- 1911年康定斯基和亨利·马蒂斯结识后，他便在慕尼黑成立了表现主义团体“蓝骑士” Blaue Reiter ( Blue Rider )
- 印象主义画家提倡户外写生，直接描绘在阳光下的物象，从而据弃了从16世纪以来变化甚微的褐色调子，并根据画家自己眼睛的观察和直接感受，表现微妙的色彩变化。
- 梵高在巴黎结识了印象主义画家之后，他的调色板就变亮了。
