- 明末清初大画家石涛,是有开创性的一代宗师。他自号苦瓜和尚，餐餐不离苦瓜。甚至还把苦瓜供奉案头朝拜。
- 1880年梵高开始学画，后来他在布鲁塞尔、海牙和安特卫普进修。
