- 据记载，在油画被发明之前是采用一种叫作“丹培拉”的技法作画，由于这种方法不能满足画家的艺术表现和技法上的要求，于是画家们便开始不断探索，寻求新的表现材料和技法。
- 萨尔瓦多·达利(Salvador Dali,1904-1989)，1904年生于西班牙菲格拉斯。他的一生充满了传奇色彩。
- 野兽派吸收了东方和非洲艺术的表现手法,在绘画中注意创造一种有别于西方古典绘画的疏﹑简的意境,有明显的写意倾向。有人把野兽派看作是广义的表现主义运动的一部分。
