1. 绘画有两种：一种为物质的交换，一为精神的追求。
2. 在画画当中，马蒂斯平生第一次感觉到“自由、安宁和闲静”。马蒂斯用他自己的话说：“我好像被召唤着，从此以后我不再主宰我的生活，而它主宰我。”

1. 长长的走廊或楼梯，两侧悬挂着一幅幅精美的油画，配合上方射灯柔和的灯光，配合古典的旋律，可营造出一条灿烂夺目的艺术长廊
2. 在楼梯转弯处随着楼梯的形状摆放不很规则的装饰画，这样的效果也很好。
3. 厨房内灯光要足够，而照出来的灯光以白色为佳，否则影响颜色判断，以致食物是否做熟也辨不出来。同时要避免灯光产生阴影，所以射灯不适宜使用。
