1. 藝術家菲勞生諾斯抄襲來自龐貝的亞力山大馬賽克，他用了大約150萬固小立體的石頭和玻璃來複製亞力山大在伊斯之役。
2. 油画从西方传入中国已有400余年的历史，据载最早的油画是由西方传教士带入中国，有的传教士还被聘为宫廷画师。明代万历年间西方传教士罗明坚、利玛窦来中国时就带来了油画材料绘制的天主和圣母像，这大概就是最早进入中国的油画了。
